Creative Writing

This is the cornerstone of the Litbridge platform.

Litbridge offers Write Like an Author (WLAA) creative writing courses from Year 3 to Year 10 across three bands: Junior, Middle Grade, and Senior, plus a free four-week On Ramp programme for Year 2 students.

Across every level, students learn the essence of story through the Write Like an Author approach, which focuses on deliberate writing choices rather than formulas or templates.

On Ramp (Year 2 – free)

A gentle start for young writers. Students build confidence and clarity while learning a simple, supportive story shape that helps them complete a full piece of writing.

Students work with a clear beginning–middle–end structure, practise writing clear sentences, introduce simple characters and problems, experiment with basic description, and most importantly, learn how to finish a complete story.

What makes Litbridge lessons different

Lessons are classroom-ready and practical, with a clear focus on student output, deliberate craft choices, and writing that affects a reader.

Step by step modelling Guided practice Clear writing goals Scaffolded drafting Revision routines Teacher-friendly assessment alignment

Designed to support assessment

The skills taught in lessons match the skills you look for when you assess student writing, so teaching, drafting, feedback, and growth tracking all point in the same direction.
